Over 80 years ago, Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative Corporation (AVECC) was founded with a mission to bring electricity to rural communities left behind in the electrification movement of the ’40s. Today, we continue to innovate, deploying a fiber-optic network to provide reliable, high-speed internet to all our members. This initiative transforms community development and economic growth, offering the same opportunities as urban and suburban areas.

WAVE Rural Connect Fiber Network
The WAVE Rural Connect fiber network is a significant financial investment in our community. It aims to upgrade and enhance the electric distribution system while providing high-speed internet to our members. This fiber-optic network will improve the electric grid’s efficiency, enabling better communication with critical electric devices and reducing future outages.
Our Combined Role & Impact
Wave and AVECC follow a proven blueprint for rural fiber broadband success, leveraging existing electric infrastructure and available government funds. Our 100% fiber network represents a multi-decade infrastructure investment, with fiber-to-the-home as the gold standard for future-proof telecommunications solutions.
Utilizing federal RDOF and state ARC funding, we are committed to expanding our coverage to provide high-speed internet to underserved non-member areas. The funding ensures members and non-members alike have access to the same quality of service as those in urban areas, fostering economic development and improving quality of life.
